ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Our friend lost his niece, Haley Stevens, to ALS when she was only 18 years old. While this crippling disease is horrific at any age, it is extremely rare and difficult when contracted so young. To support our friend and help raise awareness, we are avid supporters of the ALS charities. Specifically, we focus our efforts on the ALS Association Keith Worthington Chapter. Yesterday, we participated in the ALS Walk in St. Louis Missouri (Forest Park). It was impressive to see so many individuals comeout to support this great cause despite the record high temperatures in St. Louis.

We are helping with an ALS fundraiser event at Maggie O'Briens on August 11, 2012 to benefit the Keith Worthington Chapter. Injury Attorney Lindsay Rakers is the corporate sponsor. There will be drink specials, a live band and a silent auction. All proceeds go to charity.
